French darkwave and coldwave artist Thalie Némésis has announced that her Dé(s)figurations album will be arriving on this year’s World Goth Day. Following up on the Catarsi Apotropaica EP in 2025, the album’s 10 tracks see Némésis embarking on an immersive journey of trauma and survival that seeks to transcend evil rather than ward it off, reflective of the violence of the modern era; co-produced by Peter Rainman, Dé(s)figurations marks her most personal album to date as she traverses through “fragmented identities, transgenerational memory, and mythic figures” with an occasionally brutal and venomous outlook. “Are we merely extras on this vast stage called ‘the world?’,” she asks, with Dé(s)figurations due to be released on May 22 via Meridian Noir Records; as mentioned, the album follows up on 2025’s Catarsi Apotropaica EP, which was preceded by the single for “Acedia is My Partner in Crime” in December of 2024. While Dé(s)figurations is the first solo full-length effort from Thalie Némésis since the Némésis debut in 2014, the artist has been involved in numerous bands and collaborations since, including the Dusk album from Les Modules Etranges, “Citadel” on the eponymous 2015 debut by FrozeninMonochrome, and the Vestiges debut from K/N, featuring Némésis and Philippe Knipper.
